Obituary: Gustavo Alberto Loustaunau Orosa

08/30/1966 - 06/10/2022

Gus Loustaunau, age 55, passed away on the evening of Friday, June 10, in a tragic automobile accident. He is survived by his three daughters, Sara, age 26, of Guaymas, Sonora MX; Sofia, age 13; and Peyton, age 12, along with his friend and former wife, Holly Johnston, residing in Shorewood. He is also survived by his three siblings Victor, Alejandro, and Paulina. Gus was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Sara.

Gustavo graduated from Tec de Monterrey with a degree in biochemical engineering. He immigrated to the US to be with his daughters in 2011 and was employed by Turano Bread in Bolingbrook.

Gus was an intelligent and wise man who loved sharing his vast knowledge and Mexican culture with his daughters. He had a passion for marine biology and a love for the ocean. He was an avid bicycle rider and loved taking Sofia and Peyton on long bike rides.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held Friday, June 17, from 4:00 to 7:30pm at the Kipling Estates Clubhouse, 850 Wynstone Drive in Shorewood.

Gus will be laid to rest in the place he cherished most, his beloved Mexico.
