Stranger Approaches Child About Carnival: Shorewood Police

It should be noted that the driver, though suspicious, did not try to lure the child into the car, Shorewood police said.

The driver gave the child directions to get to the carnival that made no sense, and drove away northbound on Parkshore Drive, police said.

SHOREWOOD — The Shorewood Police issued a news bulletin in recent days letting people know that they are seeking information on an incident that occurred on the 600 block of Parkshore Drive on Friday afternoon.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., a white woman, possibly in her 60s or 70s with salt and pepper colored short hair worn in a ponytail and wearing reading glasses on her head, pulled up to a girl on the street, police said. She was reportedly driving a newer model, small, black, crossover style SUV.

The woman stopped and spoke with an 11-year-old girl, telling her about a carnival and asking if her mother was around, according to police.
