Terror In Econo Lodge: Joliet Man Returned To Crime Scene 'So He Did Not Get More Charges': Prosecutors
Joliet resident Anthony Page, 41, was arrested by Shorewood police on 13 criminal charges.

SHOREWOOD, IL — After hearing the evidence, Will County Associate Judge Derek Ewanic has determined that Joliet 41-year-old Anthony Page meets the dangerousness standard as defined by the SAFE-T-Act. Shorewood police arrested Page at the Econo Lodge on Frontage Road and prosecutors have filed a dozen criminal charges in connection with allegations he tried to strangle a woman and hurt her inside Room 102.
The Will County State's Attorney's Office charged Page with two counts of aggravated domestic battery, one count of robbery, one count of intimidation, one count of unlawful restraint, six crimes of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.
According to the petition to deny pretrial release, Shorewood police responded to the Econo Lodge at 2:11 a.m. on Oct. 23 for a welfare check. The victim told Officer Smicker that Page bit her and her upper arm had "apparent teeth marks and an area where the wound opened and bled."

The victim had asked Page if she could go to a friend's room and an argument ensued. She ran from the room and Page chased her down, court files show, and he dragged her back into the room in a chokehold.
Page threw her to the ground, punched her left leg and punched her left eye, prosecutors detailed. She began screaming for help as Page placed his right hand around her neck, applied pressure and covered her mouth with his left hand to silence her, prosecutors informed Judge Ewanic.

Page screamed at his victim, yelling, "Shut the f*** up bitch. I am going to jail," court records indicate. The victim said she could not breathe but was not sure if she lost consciousness. She started to kick the wall above the bed and managed to escape Page's grip, running into the bathroom, prosecutors revealed.
Meanwhile, someone standing outside the victim's Econo Lodge room knocked on the door and the window and announced, "I called the police."
At that point, Page's shoved the bathroom door into his victim, and the door knocked her into the bathtub. She hit her head on the bathtub when she fell into it. That's when Page bit her right arm causing it to bleed, court documents show.
Eventually, Page left the bathroom, desiring to take her vehicle and "she did not want him to leave in her vehicle since she is homeless and resides in her vehicle," prosecutors noted.
Page then grabbed a butane lighter and pointed it at her with it ignited to get her away from him. She fell to the floor and crawled to the corner, prosecutors indicated. Page then took her phone so she could not call 911 and he took her car keys and drove off in her vehicle, the judge learned.
Court records indicate that Shorewood police took Page into custody and he told them that "he wanted her to be quiet and tried to cover her mouth ... Page stated he put her in a Full Nelson."
Page denied strangling her in the bathroom, but as for the bed, "he advised he held her down by her neck with his right hand and covered her mouth with his left," prosecutors stated.
Page also told Shorewood police he walked out of the bathroom and looked for his phone and the car keys ... He stated he left in her car and drove to Larkin Avenue on Jefferson Street. He stated he turned around and came back so he did not get any more charges, court documents pointed out.
