A 4-year-old boy wandered alone down Jefferson Street Thursday night after his drunken father lost track of him at a park, police said.

A passerby on his way into Stang Kelly Liquors noticed the boy, brought him into the store and had a clerk call the cops, police said.

Officers reportedly found the boy’s father, 36-year-old Carmelo Hernandez, walking a few blocks away on Jefferson Street.

Hernandez, who initially lied about his name, was drunk, police said. He reportedly explained to the police that he was with his son at Spieler Park when he lost track of the boy.

Hernandez had picked the boy up from his mother’s home before taking him to the park, police said. The mother reportedly claimed Hernandez was not intoxicated when he arrived to get her son.
