2023 Skokie Trick-Or-Treat Hours, Halloween Events
Find out when local businesses are planning to welcome trick-or-treaters ahead of Halloween.

SKOKIE, IL — With Halloween weekend just around the corner, Skokie residents who need to head to the store for some candy or who have little ones headed out to trick-or-treat are finalizing their preparations.
For those who choose to participate in the holiday on Tuesday, Oct. 31, the village's official trick-or-treat hours run from 3 to 8 p.m.
Residents welcoming trick-or-treaters during that time should turn on exterior lights, while those that do not wish to take part are encouraged to turn their porch lights off or put up signs notifying visitors that they are not participating in trick-or treat.

For the weekend ahead of All Hallow's Eve, here are some other community events scheduled to be held in Skokie.
On Saturday, downtown Skokie business are hosting trick-or-treaters from 1 to 3 p.m., with some businesses setting up candy and activity stations and live music in front of their stories.

"Vacancies and non-participating businesses will be occupied by additional community supporters who are not centrally located in Downtown Skokie," according to an announcement from the local chamber of commerce.
The Downtown Skokie Trick-or-Treat route starts begins in the parking lot of the Crafty Beaver, 4810 Oakton St., next to the CTA Yellow Line Oakton stop and extends west to the intersection of Lincoln Avenue before turning north to the St. Peter Catholic Church and south to the intersection of Galitz Street, according to organizers.
Kids can pick up trick-or-treat bags at the starting point or at Krier Plaza at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Oakton Street. Last year, 3,000 residents took part in the event, according to organizers.
On Sunday, the Skokie Farmers' Market is welcoming trick-or-treaters from 9 to 11 a.m.. Participants can pick up a bag at the green tent in front of Village Hall, 5127 Oakton St. Visitors are encouraged to bring their "ghosts, ghouls and goblins" and shop the harvest before the seasonal market wraps up for the year next month.
