The Hunt Is On: Highland Park Easter Egg Hunt Is April 5

Mark your calendars for this year's egg hunts in Highland Park, happening on April 5.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Easter is right around the corner, and this year the Highland Park community can celebrate with community egg hunts on April 5.

The Park District of Highland Park is hosting many free outdoor egg hunts at Sunset Woods Park for kids of all ages.

  • Dog Egg Hunt - Starting at 9 a.m., the dog egg hunt will have your pooch sniffing out eggs filled with treats. All dogs must remain on leash and be at least 4 months old. The event is free, but owner registration is recommended.
  • Eggcessible Egg Hunt - Starting at 9:30, officials invited children with sensory sensitivities and disabilities to enjoy an accessible egg hunt. The hunt is designed to ensure that everyone can join the fun regardless of ability and foster an environment of understanding. Registration is free and is open to children ages 3-14 with disabilities.
  • Little Egg Hunt - Starting at 9:15 a.m., toddlers ages 1 to 3 years old are welcome to discover hidden treasures throughout the park's playground. Registration is free.
  • Egg Hunt - Starting at 10 a.m., kids ages 3 and up can step into a world inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Thousands of plastic eggs full of treats will be scattered about the park for families to find. The event is free to attend, butadvance registration is recommended.
