Rat Control And Transit Shelter Upgrades: Skokie Village Board Preview
Here's what's on the agenda for this week's Skokie Village Board meeting.

SKOKIE, IL — This week's Village Board meeting in Skokie will take place Thursday night at 7:30 p.m., a slight postponement due to religious holiday observances.
Here are some agenda items the Board will discuss:
- The most recent update for Skokie's rat control program will be presented at Thursday's meeting. Current data shows a downward trend of reports throughout the village, with under 150 reports in August. Last month, village officials stated that the rat populations has decreased by 50 percent compared to last year.
- Village officials are looking to upgrade the transit shelters throughout the city and will consider a nearly $70,000deal with a contractor to get them done. The project will replace shelters that are more than 40 years old and are not ADA compliant.Replacement work is expected to take place in winter 2025 through spring 2026.
