A graveside funeral service will be held on February 26, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, IL.

Zelda Ettore (nee Goldstein) April 16, 1934 – February 24, 2025. Zelda Ettore, a beloved educator, devoted family member, and friend of many, passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her family and friends. A dedicated teacher for 43 years at North Dover Elementary School in Toms River, New Jersey, Zelda touched the lives of countless students with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to education. Her remarkable contributions to teaching were recognized with numerous honors, including the prestigious New Jersey Teacher of the Year award. Her classroom number was retired in tribute to her legacy – a rare and fitting acknowledgment of her profound impact. Beyond the classroom, Zelda was an avid tennis player and a longtime Toms River Country Club member, where she found joy and camaraderie on the court. She was also an accomplished bridge player, becoming a Life Master and forming lifelong friendships through the game. After retiring, she embraced new chapters of life in San Diego, California, and Lincolnwood, Illinois, where she continued to share her love, laughter, and generosity with those around her. Zelda had an innate ability to connect with people, making friends wherever she went. Above all, she cherished her family, whose lives are forever enriched by her kindness, guidance, and unconditional love. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Ettore of San Diego. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Dym of Washington, DC, her son Mark and daughter-in-law Janette Dym, two grandchildren, Benjamin and Sara Dym, her sister Rhoda Rosenberg, as well as many dear friends and former students who will always remember her with gratitude and affection. A graveside funeral service will be held on February 26, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, IL.
