AMC Theaters ‘Discount Tuesday’: See A Movie For $5 On The South Side
"Downtown Abbey: A New Era," "Elvis," "Minions," "Jurassic World Dominion" and "Thor" are now playing at AMC Theatres near the South Side.
CHICAGO, IL — Here’s a twist on “shrinkflation” movie lovers can get behind: They’ll be able to see the latest releases for $5 and tax on “Discount Tuesdays” through October at AMC Theatres.
That includes films such as “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Elvis,” “Jurassic World Dominion,” and others. Discounts may vary by location, the theater chain noted on its website.

- AMC Ford City 14, 7601 S. Cicero Ave., Chicago (does not accept cash)
- AMC Quarry Cinemas 14, 9201 63rd St., Hodgkins
- AMC Chicago Ridge 6, 500 Chicago Ridge Mall (95th Street and Ridgeland Ave.)
- AMC Crestwood 18, 13221 Rivercrest Drive, Crestwood (does not accept cash)
The special discount price is for all showings, regardless of the time of day, on those Tuesdays. However, AMC applies surcharges for premium formats such as Dolby Cinema, IMAX, PRIME, RealD 3D and D- Box.
To take advantage of the discounts, however, moviegoers need to sign up for a free AMC Stubs Insider membership. Other perks members can get include free refills on large popcorn purchases, and deeply discounted prices for movie premiers.

The discounts are available even if tickets are purchased on third-party sites such as Fandango or Atom Tickets.
