Betty Shabazz Academy Teacher Awarded Golden Apple for Excellence
Precious Allen, second-grade teacher at Betty Shabazz Academy, honored with the prestigious Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching Award
Help us spread the word about Precious Allen, an amazing second-grade teacher at Betty Shabazz Academy in Chicago, who is one of ten recipients of the prestigious Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching from 600 nominations statewide!
As part of the honor, she will receive a $5,000 cash award and a spring sabbatical provided by Northwestern University at no cost and will become a Fellow of the Golden Apple Academy of Educators, working to prepare the next generation of teachers in the Golden Apple Scholars and Accelerators programs - which are dedicated to addressing the teacher shortage in Illinois.
