Child Hit by Tractor in West Englewood Friday Morning [UPDATE]

A 7-year-old girl was fatally injured when a tractor struck her in the 6500 block of South Ashland Avenue Friday morning, according to Chicago Police. She was hit by a red tractor pulling grass-cutting machinery. She was taken in critical condition at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, where she later died, reports WGN.

The tractor was leased by the Streets and Sanitation Department and wasn't being driven by a city employee, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
