Mondelēz Celebrates 130th Anniversary of Historic Toledo Flour Mill

Milestone Honored with Recognition from Ohio Congressional and State Officials

On Saturday, October 8, 2022, Mondelēz International marked the 130th anniversary of its Biscuit Flour Mill in Toledo, Ohio with a ceremony and day-long celebration alongside local associates, Mondelēz corporate leaders and Ohio dignitaries, including Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, and Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukieweicz.

The Midwest plays an important part in Mondelēz International’s U.S. snacking supply chain footprint, and generations of Ohioans have contributed to the growth and success of the Mondelēz Toledo Mill over many years. Today, flour from the Toledo Mill is shipped across the Mondelēz bakery network, where it is used to make and bake consumer-favorite snacks, including Oreo and Chips Ahoy! cookies and Ritz crackers.

  • On an average day, processes nearly 1,000 acres of wheat (which is equivalent to approximately 1,000 football fields!)
  • On an average day, production of more than 1,500 tons of flour (which is equivalent to the weight of seven commercial airplanes!)
  • Storage capacity of 5.5 million bushels of wheat (enough to fill nearly 5,500 semi-truck trailers!)
