Pedestrian, 89, Hit And Killed On Bishop Ford Thursday: ISP

The man was walking near Interstate 94 and 115th Street at around 1 a.m. when he was hit and pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

CHICAGO — An 89-year-old pedestrian is dead after he was hit and killed by a car Thursday morning on the Bishop Ford Expressway, officials said.

According to Illinois State Police, the man was walking near the northbound lanes of Interstate 94 near 115th Street when he was struck at around 1 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office had not released his name as of Thursday morning.

Lanes in the area were closed for about four hours while police investigated and were reopened by 5 a.m. Thursday.
