Power Outage Causes 'Extensive Delays' For Metra Electric Trains

Officials said all inbound and outbound trains on the city's south suburban commuter rail are stopped completely from Millennium to 35th St.

CHICAGO — A power outage is causing inbound and outbound Metra Electric line trains to stop near Millennium Station, the agency said in a social media post Tuesday morning.

"Extensive delays expected," Metra tweeted at 9 a.m.

All train movement has been halted from Millennium to 35th Street since around 8:30 a.m.

The Metra Electric line services Chicago's southern suburbs. Officials said a 9:20 a.m. train from Millennium Station all the way to University Park will likely be delayed.
