Southland of Chicago Native Kai Love, Performs in "Dear 21 Year Old Me" Virtual 25th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival, Jan. 21-Feb. 13
Southland Chicago native and Storyteller Kai Love, performs her original piece Dear 21 Year Old Me as part of “Survivance” alongside Mikki Adams, Taneesha Jackson, and Lakeisha Rivers in Lifeline Theatre’s 25th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival, running virtually January 21- February 13.
Kai Love is the Co-Founder of “SURVIVANCE” which is a digital storytelling capsule of the pandemic. This collective describes its mission and purpose as, “the ongoing survival; the continual reclaiming of one’s presence and voice; a collective renunciation of systemic oppression and intentional harm on a person and/or a people. Survivance is our voices, our lived experiences; this is our moment.” In Survivance the members appear as themselves to emphasize that their lived experiences matter.
Celebrating the breadth of Chicago’s enduring storytelling and live-lit scene, Lifeline virtually brings 10 storytelling collectives and 28 solo performers together from all over the country in a three-week online gallery of powerful, personal stories.
