South Side Companies Dance for 50 Years of Ruth Page Center
M.A.D.D. Rhythms, Muntu Dance Theatre and South Chicago Dance Theatre Presented at Ruth Page Center for the Arts, Center Stage, Mar. 25 + 26

South Side Dance Companies M.A.D.D. Rhythms, Muntu Dance Theatre and South Chicago Dance Theatre, among other recognized Chicago dance institutions, will celebrate 50 years of service to the world's dance community at Center Stage at Ruth Page at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn St. Friday, March 25 and Saturday March, 26 at 7:30 p.m. The Ruth Page Center for the Arts is proud to present this annual celebration of its founder and dance icon Ruth Page’s (1899 – 1991) birth.
Center Stage at Ruth Page annually features the in-residence organizations who call The Ruth Page Center for the Arts home. This year, for added celebration, the 2022 program will also include invited dance companies, like the South Side organizations referenced above, from the Chicago dance community. Dancers from the Ruth Page Civic Ballet Training Company and advanced-level dancers from the Ruth Page School of Dance will perform both nights.
The Friday, March 25 performance includes Chicago Dance History Project, DanceWorks Chicago, Giordano Dance Chicago, Hedwig Dances, Porchlight Music Theatre, Ruth Page Civic Ballet Training Company, and Ruth Page School of Dance. The Saturday, March 26 performance includes Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, M.A.D.D. Rhythms, Muntu Dance Theatre, South Chicago Dance Theatre, Ruth Page Civic Ballet Training Company, and Ruth Page School of Dance.

M.A.D.D. Rhythms is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, promote, and contribute to the art form of tap by teaching its history, representing its culture, and advocating for its future. Muntu Dance Theatre performs authentic and progressive interpretations of contemporary and ancient African and African-American dance, music, and folklore; they are a colorful and dynamic company known for its unique synthesis of dance, rhythm and song. South Chicago Dance Theatre (SCDT) is a multicultural organization that seamlessly fuses classical and contemporary dance styles and preserves historic dance work. Cultural diplomacy is at the heart of this organization, as SCDT creates, performs, and teaches dance on a local, national, and international platform.
The Ruth Page Center for the Arts commits its resources to a combination of artistic initiatives that positively impact over 40,000 children and adults annually. More than just a building, The Ruth Page Center is a hub for creative exploration, connection, and expression.
