Mother, 1-Year-Old Found Dead On South Side
Chicago Police are conducting a death investigation after a 25-year-old mother and her1-year-old son were found dead at a South Side home.

CHICAGO — A death investigation is underway in Chicago’s Ashburn neighborhood, where a woman and 1-year-old child were found deceased at a South Side home, Chicago police said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified them as Kendrea Richardson and baby Ellis Washington. The baby's father identified them as mother and son, ABC Chicago reported.
Around 3 a.m., 8th District police officers were called to assist the Chicago Fire Department at a home in the 2400 block of 80th Street, where the 25-year-old woman was found unconscious in the backyard. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Chicago firefighter observed an open door. When the firefighter entered the home, a 1-year-old child was found unresponsive. The child was pronounced dead on the scene.
Area One detectives are conducting a death investigation. No cause or manner of death has been provided by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
