2 Men In Tinley Woman's Garage Fire 3 Shots Before Fleeing: Cops

Tinley Park Police are investigating the incident as an attempted burglary.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A woman was shot at three times in her garage early Wednesday morning, according to Tinley Park Police.

Police said just after 1:41 a.m. Wednesday, a woman was smoking a cigarette in her car, parked inside her garage, in the block of Brookside Glen Drive. The woman noticed two men were also in her garage, which lead to her exiting the car, and confronting them, police said.

The men then fled the scene, firing three gunshots at the woman, who wasn't harmed, according to police. The woman told investigators she saw the men drive off in a white SUV, but police couldn't find the getaway car.

Police are investigating the incident as an attempted burglary. Upon investigating, police said many unlocked cars were found in the area. The Tinley Park Police Department reminds residents to always lock their cars and close their garage doors at night.
