2 Tennessee Teens Had Guns In Car Parked Outside Tinley Park Hotel
According to police, the teenagers were smoking marijuana last Tuesday night when an officer walked up and saw a gun in the passenger's lap.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Two Tennessee teenagers were arrested last week after police said they had handguns in a car parked outside a Tinley Park hotel.
According to police, an officer was patrolling the parking lot of Woodspring Suites at 18636 West Creek Drive Tuesday, May 24 at around 11:20 p.m.
The officer said he saw two people sitting in the front seat of a black Chevrolet Traverse with Tennessee license plates. When the officer went over to the car to see why the people were still in the parking lot, police said he noticed the two were smoking marijuana.

When he knocked on the window to get the driver's attention, officials said the officer saw a Glock handgun in the passenger's lap. The officer drew his weapon on the two teens and waited until other Tinley Park police came.
According to a written statement, officers searched the car and found a second handgun and 10 grams of marijuana. The two weapons and the car itself belonged to the driver's father, who police said was in a hotel room upstairs.

Both 18-year-old Deandrae Rogers Jr. and a 17-year-old boy were charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and taken to the Will County Adult Detention Center and River Valley Juvenile Justice Center, respectively.
