350 Brewing Company Featured On WGN's 'Chicago's Best' (VIDEO)

TINLEY PARK, IL — The goal of the local TV series "Chicago's Best" is to hunt down and spotlight some of the best food that can be found in the area. The most recent episode, which aired Sunday on WGN-TV, featured Tinley Park's 350 Brewing Company, an establishment that's known not only for its grub but also its wide variety of beers.

The craft brewery, 7144 W. 183rd St., opened in September 2014 and has brewed around 200 beers since then. But 350 Brewing made it on the show thanks to some persistent online lobbying by customer Matt Gumbaragis.

"What is it going to take to get 350 Brewing Company on the show?" he wrote in a Facebook post directed at the show.

Gumbaragis went on to tout the brewpub's Buffalo parm garlic wings, as well as the work done by owner Todd Randall and brewer Dustin Peters. Apparently, that was enough to convince show host Elliott Bambrough to travel south to Tinley on a recent evening to interview Randall, cook Harry Anderson and a host of customers.

"If you're a beer geek like me, you're right at home," one customer said during the segment, explaining why he enjoys the 350. "But at the same time, they're not beer snobs."

Along with sampling the brewery's beer selection — 22 varieties currently available, Randall said — Bambrough also tried the shrimp tacos — the Reel Big Shrimp — a dish he took a stab at preparing, as well. The brewpub's menu also includes other creatively named items, such as the American Idiot Chili Bowl, Throat Kick Cauliflower, Stranger Than Fiction Meatloaf Sandwich, I Don't Want to Grow Up Grilled Cheese and Cluck Authority chicken tenders.

"I'm very passionate about beer, but I'm very passionate about food, obviously," Randall told Bambrough.

"Chicago's Best" airs at 10 p.m. Sundays on WGN-TV.
