$70K Stolen As Tinley Resident Assaulted, Robbed At Gunpoint: Police
The incident happened July 13 in Oak Park. A black grocery bag containing a large amount of cash was stolen.
OAK PARK, IL — A Tinley Park resident last week was assaulted and robbed of nearly $70,000 in cash in addition to other items in Oak Park, according to police reports.
The incident happened Thursday, July 13 just before 10 a.m., in the 1000 block of Lake Street in Oak Park. Police say an unknown male suspect forced his way into the vehicle, struck the victim with a handgun, and made verbal demands.
The suspect took from the victim several valuable items, including a black iPhone 11, debit/credit cards, an insurance card—and a black grocery-style bag full of cash. The robber fled in a red-colored vehicle.
