The Streetz Artz Alliance hosted several markets at both Soundgrowler and Hailstorm last year and have at least three more markets scheduled at both locations in 2023. Earlier in the year, Soundgrowler and Streetz Artz Alliance hosted an Alien Market and a Plant Market. Both were well-received and well-attended beyond his expectations, Streetz said.
Both the Pet Market and the Flurry events are different from each other and will offer locals to the area a different variety each day and different food and beers each day, too. Soundgrowler is known for their tacos and their kitchen will be open throughout the entire event. Hailstorm has their Scratch Made Kitchen that features items like chicken wings, pretzels, grilled cheese and pork belly sliders.
“Art fairs and craft breweries go really well together," Streetz said. "People can relax with a good local craft beer in hand while they walk around to visit the vendors. It’s about the handcrafters, people who labor over their work, who love their labor, who are proud to put out things they made themselves."
There are over 30 artists planned to be at Soundgrowler on Saturday. There are 22 handmakers and makers planned for Hailstorm on Sunday. Only two or three artists are actually at both events both days providing a different variety for any shopping adventurers looking to check out both events.
Both events are free, and all ages are welcome. On-site and nearby parking available at both locations and in both cases, in the event of inclement weather, the outside artists will move inside.
The Streetz Artz Alliance(SAA) is a network of over 350 artists and crafters from across the Chicago suburbs, NW Indiana and southern Wisconsin who participate in markets all over the area. The SAA goal is promote small businesses including the artists and the breweries.
