The Basketball Museum of Illinois Hosting Special Hoops Event

Olympia Fields, Ill. – (October 3, 2023) – The Basketball Museum of Illinois will host a special event on October 5th from 6pm-8pm at its future home at the Wintrust Sports Complex in Bedford Park.

Once completed, the museum will be a comprehensive facility dedicated to recognizing the rich tradition and history of basketball, at all levels, in the state of Illinois.

The event boasts two of the greatest Illinois basketball historians in guest speakers Jim O’Boye and Taylor Bell. O’Boye has been honored by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) for Distinguished Media Service for his many years working the basketball playoffs in Illinois and the NCAA’s March Madness. Bell is a charter member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Hall of Fame and has worked with Illinois prep sports since 1958. Both are excited to share their legendary Illinois hoops stories with the audience.
