Casting Call: 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' In Tinley

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park Park District's Community Theater program is looking for actors, experienced and new, to take the stage in a production of "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest." Adults 18 and up are welcome to audition.

Auditions consist of a short interview and a quick reading of a monologue from the play. The audition's event page says Kirk Douglas played the lead role on Broadway.

"One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" tells the story of a man's time in a mental institution where he decided to serve his sentence for a crime instead of prison. "This, he learns, was a mistake," the production's Facebook event page says.

Daniel Wm. DeWalt is directing, and the play will take place at the Tinley Park Performing Arts Center.

Here's a schedule of events for the production:

• Auditions: Saturday, Jan. 26, 3 to 5:30 p.m.
• Rehearsals: Thursdays from Feb. 7 to April 11, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
• Rehearsals: Saturdays from Feb. 9 to April 13, 5 to 7:30 p.m.
• Tech Rehearsal: Thursday, April 18, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
• Dress Rehearsal: Friday, April 19, 6 to 9:30 p.m.
• Performances:
  • April 20, 26, 27 (7 p.m. for all), 28 (3 p.m.)

Bring a list of any scheduling conflicts as well as your clothing sizes for costumes.
