Comics, Games & Cosplay Market Back At Tinley Brewery For Pop Culture Celebration

TINLEY PARK, IL — Beer, tacos, comics, and cosplay collide Aug. 30, as Soundgrowler Brewing Co. in Tinley Park hosts the fourth annual Comics, Video Games, Board Games & Cosplay Market.

The free, all-ages event set for Aug. 30 from 12 to 5 p.m. at the brewery, 8201 183rd St., is expected to draw fans of all kinds to celebrate creativity and pop culture.

Curated by Streetz Artz Alliance, the market features more than 40 artists, vendors, and creators, from comic illustrators and authors to cosplay accessory makers and collectible toy dealers. New to this year’s lineup are vendors specializing in board and video games, including Critical Grind Board Game Café, G’s Wreaths & Vintage Games, and Bert’s Tabletop Games.

Returning favorites include comic vendors Southside Comic Book Show, Grim Comics, Back Issue Bin 73, and Belonio Doodles, each offering rare and unique comics to browse and buy.

Cosplay Contest

A highlight of the day will be the Cosplay Contest at 4 p.m., judged by Jen Watson, Scott Eckelberry, and a Soundgrowler Brewing representative. Prizes will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place, and Judge’s Choice.

“We’re not judging screen accuracy or physical resemblance,” said Watson. “This contest is about creativity, attitude, and celebrating the characters you love.”

Brewery Highlights

Soundgrowler will serve up tacos and its full line of craft beer during the market. A special release, Galaxy Krusher, debuts for the event—a hazy double IPA bursting with tropical fruit and citrus.

“This event is about community,” said organizer John Streetz. “We’re proud to bring together such a diverse lineup of artists, vendors, and fans under one roof. With comics, games, cosplay, and great beer, it’s truly something special."
