COVID-19 Case Positivity Increases In Tinley Park: CCDPH

Nearly 75 percent of Tinley has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village of Tinley Park has had a recent increase in COVID-19 positivity, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

The health department's latest statistics on the virus show that 46 cases have been recorded in the village within this past week. According to the department, the percent change in confirmed cases in past 14 days is up by three percent in Tinley Park. Since the start of the pandemic, the village has had a total of 6,120 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the department reports.

More than half of the village has been inoculated with both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. According to the health department 36,783, or nearly 75 percent of Tinley Park residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine. People who are fully vaccinated with two doses include 31,091 or 63 percent of Tinley Park residents. Over 56 thousand people live in Tinley Park, Census data shows.

Cook County in general has a 1.9 percent positivity rate. Since the start of the pandemic, 287,252 Cook County residents have tested positive for the virus, and 4,782 have died. The department reports that the county currently has a substantial community transmission level.
