TINLEY PARK, IL — Soundgrowler Brewing, known for pairing its acclaimed craft beer with vibrant artisan markets, opens its taproom, barrel room, and beer garden this Sunday, Oct. 12 to host the Dark Arts Market, a curated showcase of over 50 artists and makers.

The event features "the weird, the wonderful, or the downright strange, and the vendor lineup proves it true. Inside and outside, visitors will find a carefully curated mix of dark arts, horror-inspired creations, oddities, and handmade goods. Six artists will be making their Soundgrowler debut, including ZappyCatCreations, MadebyMarlee, Snowingstars, Pulmonary Creations, Icky Bah Koo, and Natural Selections. From leatherwork and insect art to charcoal horror portraits and witch-inspired jewelry, the range is unmatched.

Patrons can adopt a ghostie from Frankenwerks, explore Jonathan Grimm Art’s latest prints, or receive a tarot reading from Ten Cups Tarot. Serpent & Flame Candle Co. will offer monster-inspired candles, Saucy Makes brings hand-painted devilish beer steins, and Sealed Fate Curiosities fills its booth with wet specimens and ethically sourced insect displays. Also, leashed pets are welcome in the outdoor beer garden.

Beyond shopping, the market balances the eerie with the everyday—candles, bath and body care, seasonal treats, pickles, chocolate-dipped confections, chow chow, and cookies. Expect laser-cut jewelry, fused glass, rag dolls, resin spirit boards, glowing artwork, vintage fashions, insect taxidermy, stained glass, and much more.

This market also carries a spirit of giving. Many participating artists are donating portions of their proceeds to organizations including the Hello Happiness Creativity Center, Brave Space Alliance, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, and cancer research groups. Some donations are tied directly to thematic creations—such as None of This is Cake, whose glass pieces support the Alzheimer’s Association and The Brigid Alliance. Additional charities being supported include the Ekukhanyeni Relief Project, the Trevor Project, and Wanna Help.

“Dark Arts Market is a mix of creepy and curious, but also sweet, wearable, and everyday,” said curator John Streetz. “We’re excited to feature artists who fit the theme, alongside fan favorites, creating a balanced and memorable experience.”
