TINLEY PARK, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Catalina is not only a frontline worker, she is also at high risk due to an autoimmune disorder. She is putting her life at risk to help save others, because her passion is to help other. She is an EMT, and in nursing school, she does not allow her illness to get in the way of doing her work.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Her compassion, and dedication is one to look up too.
