Fiery Downed Power Line In Tinley Causes Brief Outage (VIDEO)

The cause of what brought down the power line is still under investigation, according to ComEd.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Village emergency crews and ComEd workers repaired a sparking and fiery downed power line Tuesday morning near the Tinley Park Plaza. What caused the power line to fall is still under investigation, according to a spokeswoman from the power company.

The power line emergency happened just before 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, in the 7300 block of West 159th Street, near Home Depot. The Tinley Park police and fire departments also were at the scene to assist Com-Ed workers.

About 45 customers were affected by the downed line, ComEd said. Repair work was finished by around 8:10 a.m., according to the power company.
