A Flurry in July: Tinley Park’s Coolest Artisan Market Returns

Local artists and big flavors shine at Tinley's Flurry Artisan Market on Sunday, July 13 at Hailstorm Brewing.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Flurry Artisan Market returns Hailstorm Brewing, with a focus on handmade and original art. Set for Sunday, July 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the curated market features unique finds, local talent, and cold drinks. It's family-friendly and free to attend.

Hosted at Hailstorm Brewing, 8060 186th St., the event takes place across three zones of the brewery: the outdoor patio and parking lot, the main taproom, and the brewery area behind the main bar.

The market is organized by John E. Streetz of the Streetz Artz Alliance, who has partnered with Hailstorm for more than three years to bring fresh and vibrant events to the south suburbs. Each event showcases a new mix of artists while welcoming back fan favorites.

“The South Side really comes out and supports our events in Tinley Park, and I couldn’t be more thankful,” said Streetz. “I work hard to bring in new artists every time while keeping the mix exciting—from cute to creepy, utilitarian to decorative, and clean to totally inappropriate!”

Returning favorites include The Ancestral Oven with his legendary sourdough breads; Belonio Doodles and his pop culture illustrations; DK Custom Woodwork, known for handmade cutting boards, charcuterie trays, and pepper mills; and Wanna Pickle Gourmet Foods with their bold-flavored pickles. Also returning are Gigawatt Coffee, Grandma Dan’s Cookies, Beaver Rub Spice Company, Ghost Owl Studio, Masterclass Sweet & Savory Foods, Special K’s BeerCandles, MPN 3D, and more.

“Honestly, this is one of our best lineups to date at Hailstorm—but let’s not forget what the brewery is bringing to the table,” Streetz added.

A staple of Hailstorm events, the brunch waffle returns with a twist: waffle sliders. For $15, guests can enjoy two scratch-made waffle breakfast sandwiches with fried egg, American cheese, and a choice of bacon, ham, or sausage patty. It’s like a breakfast sandwich, but the bun is a waffle.

To keep cool, Hailstorm is offering refreshing beer slushies in two summer flavors: orange cream (a dreamy orange-vanilla mix) and the pina-beerlada (pineapple and coconut, topped with whipped cream). Also on tap: beermosas and the Blueberry Hill Shandy—a blueberry lemonade twist on a summer classic. Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the regular menu available afterward.

This summer’s Flurry also welcomes a wave of debut artists offering handmade jewelry, vintage décor, perfumes, soaps, hot sauces, apparel, and more. Newcomers include Dale Zawada, JAM. Foods & Services, AntiqueNess Apothecary, Stoked Suds, FrankenWerks Studios, Kim’s Creative Cuts, CK Creative, The Book Nook Boutique, Found Jewelry, WhistleNotes Perfumery, and Daisy Brand Arts LTD.

Award-winning screenwriter and horror author Dale Zawada joins the alliance for the first time, offering signed copies of his books American Graveyard and 13 Bodies.

Stoked Suds, longtime fans of the brewery, will feature their Summer Collection with market-only specials. “This is probably our last market before baby, so come stock up on suds—soap and beer!” they shared.

The Book Nook Boutique, based in Bourbonnais, specializes in literary-themed crafts and décor, debuting with fun designs like “Books & Coffee” and “Hot Girls Read Books.”

“I absolutely love checking out the different Streetz Artz Alliance markets,” said Nikki Kman, a regular attendee. “It’s the best example of supporting small. Lunch and wandering the aisles with a beer—I always find something for myself or a family member. Last year I bought a ton of Christmas presents at a Hailstorm market. I’m excited to see what Carla’s Plants has and stock up on more Gigawatt coffee.”
