Golfers, Sponsors Still Sought For Crisis Center's Major Fundraiser

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia's golf outing fundraiser is set for August 13 at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Golfers, sponsors, and donations are still sought for a golf outing fundraiser supporting a vital resource for victims of domestic violence.

The second largest fundraiser of the year for the Crisis Center of South Suburbia, the Dianne Masters Cup Charity Golf Outing is set for August 13 at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park. The outing is open to golfers of all skill levels, with a choice of either an 18-hole or 9-hole format. Non-golfers may also choose to purchase dinner only tickets for the post-round celebration and silent auction.

Hole sponsorship opportunities are still open and available for those interested in supporting the event. Proceeds from the outing go to help survivors of domestic violence who turn to the Crisis Center for South Suburbia for assistance when leaving abusive relationships. All programs and shelter offered by Crisis Center for South Suburbia are offered at no cost for survivors of domestic violence.

"With recent news stories in our communities about domestic violence, and statistics showing that domestic violence homicides doubled in Illinois in 2023 compared to 2022, it is plain to see that organizations like the Crisis Center are needed and utilized now more than ever." said Crisis Center’s Executive Director, Pam Kostecki. "When you sign up to golf or pledge a sponsorship for the Dianne Masters Cup Charity Golf Outing, you are stating that you stand up against domestic violence in all its forms.” added Kostecki. “While you enjoy a fun-filled day on one of the suburb’s most beautiful golf courses, a survivor of domestic violence will be receiving vital services and shelter that could ultimately end up saving their life."

The event, now in its 31st year, is significant not only for its fundraising efforts, but also in its memorialization of Crisis Center for South Suburbia’s late founder, Dianne Masters, whose life was taken from her in an act of domestic violence by her abuser. Every summer, golfers and participants in the outing take time during the festivities to pay respects and honor her legacy and the work that she put in over 45 years ago to begin laying the foundation for what the Crisis Center for South Suburbia is today.
