Arrest Made In Fatal Stabbing Of Oak Forest Woman: Police

Police have taken the man into custody after an hours-long barricade situation.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A man at the center of an hours-long barricade situation in Tinley Park is in custody late Saturday afternoon, more than 12 hours after police first descended on and surrounded a home in the 18200 block of Glen Swilly Circle.

Chad Oster was taken into custody Saturday just before 4:30 p.m., in connection with the death of Lauren Pikor.

Oak Forest police Saturday were executing a search warrant at a home in the 18200 block of Glen Swilly Circle, with assistance from Tinley Park police and the South Suburban Emergency Response Team. The search warrant was issued in connection to the fatal stabbing of an Oak Forest woman Friday night in the 5300 block of Diamond Drive, Oak Forest Police Chief Jason Reid confirmed.

Negotiators worked for hours to de-escalate the situation, Tinley Park Police Deputy Chief Thomas Tilton said. Police had been at the home since 1:30 a.m.

Police could be heard on loudspeakers communicating with a man inside the home, sources tell Patch. Scanner reports relayed the man is armed. No gunfire was exchanged throughout the incident.

Residents were asked to avoid the area due to a police investigation.
