How To Apply For Tinley's New Garbage Bill Discounts

Tinley's seniors and some disabled veterans will receive new discounts on garbage bills beginning Oct. 1. Here's how to apply.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park's new garbage bill rates go into effect Oct. 1, and senior citizens and certified 100 percent disabled veterans will get new discounts.

Eligible seniors will pay only $22.99 per month ($68.97 quarterly), and certified 100 percent disabled veterans will pay nothing per month. Eligible residents who wish to receive these discounts on their next bill must do the following:

  • Fill out the Proof of Discount form, available at www.tinleypark.org/waste.
  • Provide a driver’s license/state ID or birth certificate to show proof of age.
  • Provide either a utility bill or a tax bill to show proof of property ownership.
  • Disabled veterans also must provide a “100% Disabled” letter from Veterans Affairs.
  • Mail or drop off all required documents at Village Hall, 16250 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park, by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. You also can photocopy the above information and email it, along with the form, to discountrequest@tinleypark.org.

The Village will be accepting information through Sept. 30. After that time, residents should submit the above information to Homewood Disposal Service. Homewood Disposal will continue to process payments, as Village Hall does not accept payment for garbage.
