Huge Community Recycling Event This Weekend
The Tinley Park Lions Club in cooperation with The Village of Tinley Park EEC host 6th Annual event on Saturday.
On Saturday, August 23 from 8 to 11 a.m., the Tinley Park Lions Club and The Village of Tinley Park Environmental Enhancement Commission are holding their Recycling Extravaganza at the 80th Ave Train Station South Lot. This event has been a successful event for the past 5 years and years hopes to be as well. We are recycling an extensive list of items, so before fall gets here, clean it out and bring it over. A complete list of accepted items is in the photos. There is a small fee for some items, such as TV’s and monitors, batteries, and paint. Shredding is also available, with a limit of 3 bags or boxes per vehicle.
The Tinley Park Lions are specifically collecting: Old Glasses, Hearing Aids, Pop Tabs, Ink Cartridges (not toner cartridges), cell phones, keys, and gym shoes.
The Tinley Park Lions Club is a member of the Largest Service Organization in the World, Lions Club International. Tinley Parks Club was chartered on October 12th, 1949 and has existed ever since. Our motto is “We Serve”. The Lions Primary Cause is to those with Vision and Hearing Issues but has expanded to 8 Global Causes over the years, one of which includes the environment. Tinley Park Lions Club started this event in 2019, started by former Club President Lion Ron Kulak and Assisted by Lion MJ Pivoney and the TP ECC. Together with the TP EEC, Lion MJ Pivoney has kept this event going strong.
