Hundreds Donate, Wear Green To Help Family Of Slain Tinley Park Teen
An online fundraiser conducted by Mia Maro's family members has raised over $15,000 for funeral costs and care for the teen's mother.

TINLEY PARK, IL — An online fundraiser for a teenage girl killed in her Tinley Park home Sunday has raised over $15,000 to go towards funeral costs.
Mia Maro, 17, was killed Sunday evening by her father, police said. The Victor J. Andrew High School student was a senior, a few weeks away from graduating.
Maro's aunt put together the fundraiser, which had a goal of $15,000, to help pay for funeral expenses and care for Mia's mother. According to family members, the girl's mother suffered a brain injury three years ago that resulted in her needing full-time care.
