Man Shot 5 Times Over Basketball Game, 1 In Custody: Tinley PD

TINLEY PARK, IL — Police said a Richton Park man is in custody after shooting a man five times Thursday evening in the parking lot at L.A. Fitness, 18400 Convention Center Drive in Tinley Park.

Police said an argument that began during a basketball game inside the gym spilled out into the parking lot shortly after 8 p.m.

The shooter then went to his car, retrieved a gun, and walked back to the man before shooting him five times, police said.

The victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital and is in critical but stable condition.

The shooter was taken into custody, and charges are pending.
