Memorial Day Ceremony In Tinley Park Will Go Virtual
A Memorial Day ceremony will be held as usual at Veterans Plaza, but it won't be open to the public this year amid the coronavirus crisis.
TINLEY PARK, IL — This year's village of Tinley Park Memorial Day ceremony will go on much like years past with one noticeable difference. It won't be open to the public. The ceremony, planned for the Monday, May 25 holiday at 10 a.m., will instead be streamed virtually on the village of Tinley Park Facebook page, YouTube channel and on Tinley TV, which broadcasts on Comcast Channel 4 and U-verse Channel 99. according to a news release from the village.
The ceremony will be held at Veterans Plaza and include the posting of colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, guest speakers, a Battlefield Cross ceremony, a wreath presentation in memory of all fallen veterans, a flag ceremony and the announcement of new paver bricks added to the Veterans Walkway.
