Motorcyclist Seriously Injured, Man In Custody After Tinley Park Crash

According to police, a woman has serious leg and foot injuries after a car and motorcycle crashed late Monday night.

TINLEY PARK, IL — One woman is seriously injured following a motorcycle and car crash Monday night, police said.

According to police and fire officials, a woman was a passenger on a motorcycle heading north on Oak Park Avenue at around 9:15 p.m. Monday. A man was driving a car on Oak Park Avenue heading in the opposite direction and turned east onto 174th Place without yielding, police said.

The car hit the motorcycle, causing the female passenger serious leg and foot injuries, fire personnel said. A portion of Oak Park Avenue was closed from 9:30 p.m. to 1:40 a.m. Tuesday while officials investigated the crash.

The driver of the vehicle is in custody as a result of the crash. Police said charges are pending.
