No Injuries, Tinley Home Uninhabitable After Attic Fire: Fire Chief

The fire happened Wednesday morning in the 6000 block of Jody Lane, fire officials said.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Residents of a home in unincorporated Tinley Park home made it out safely Wednesday morning during an attic fire, Tinley Park Fire Chief Steve Klotz said.

Tinley Park Fire crews were called just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to the 6000 block of Jody Lane, in the unincorporated Tinley Park's Kimberly Heights neighborhood.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, with access to fire hydrants complicated by snow, ice, and distance. Klotz said hyrdants in the unincorporated neighborhood are placed differently, setting them further apart and making them more difficult to reach.

"When we need to get water, we just have to go a little further," Klotz said.

The fire was under control within 10-15 minutes of crews' arrival, Klotz said.
