Loren Lee Boersma, age 72, passed away with family by his side in Goodyear, Arizona on August 24, 2024.

Loren was a garbage man for over 40 years where he developed many friendships with his fellow coworkers. He was a man who absolutely loved his music and with this passion he spent his nights working security at the World Music Amphitheater in Tinley Park with his many great friends. He was a man of honesty and integrity and was very proud to have been a veteran of the United States Army.
Loren is survived by Patti, his loving wife of 36 years and his faithful companion, his dog Lulu; his children, Heather Lamb, Jason (Elizabeth) Boersma, Adam (Holly) Boersma and Ashley (Dan) Isaacson; his grandchildren, who always made him proud with their many accomplishments, Ryan Boersma, Abbey Boersma, Luke Boersma, Cole Boersma, Skylar Boersma, Hadley Isaacson, Nolan Isaacson and Brycen Boersma. Loren was the youngest brother and so very loved by his siblings, Enid (Edward) Rice, Bernetta (Edward) Pruim, Butch Boersma, and Norine Pruim. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Larry (Linda) Tompkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Irma and Melvin C. Boersma Sr.; baby brother, Delwyn; mother and father-in-law, Jean and George Gudenrath; sister-in-law, Marilyn Boersma; and his beloved dog, Tuffy.
Loren was truly a life loving man who always had a calm and loving demeanor. He always felt blessed to another day, despite his health troubles over the past few years. He was a simple man who taught everyone the value of a dollar, and that a dollar in his pocket was better than a dollar in someone else's pocket. He loved his Harleys and he traveled the country on multiple adventures. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
A Memorial Service for Loren Lee Boersma will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, with full military honors held under the auspices of the United States Army, the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad, and the Illinois Patriot Guard.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
