Officials Ask Drivers to Avoid Harlem and 183rd

Traffic is expected to be heavy on 183rd and Harlem Avenue, where traffic control officers have been stationed.

are asking motorists to avoid the Harlem Avenue and 183rd Street intersection today while crews work to repair a traffic signal outage caused by last night's storms.

The signals are expected to be inoperable until at least 7 p.m. tonight, Saturday, June 30.

In addition to the signal outage, traffic in that area will be busy due to a nearby music concert.

"Traffic control officers are stationed in the area, but it would be helpful for motorists to avoid that intersection if possible," said an emergency alert sent from the village. "Your cooperation is appreciated."
