Orland Park Driver Charged In Fiery Oak Park Avenue Crash

The 45-year-old man faces DUI, reckless driving and other traffic charges stemming from Tuesday night's accident.

TINLEY PARK, IL — An Orland Park man faces traffic charges following a two-vehicle accident Tuesday night along Oak Park Avenue, according to Tinley Park police. The crash resulted in one of the vehicles — an SUV carrying ammunition — to catch fire.

Benjamin Del Valle, 45, was charged with driving under the influence due to drugs, reckless driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance stemming from the accident, police said. De Valle was taken to a local hospital after the crash and later released. No one else was injured, according to police.

According to witnesses, the accident happened at around 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in the 172oo block of Oak Park Avenue. Firefighters responded to the crash to contain the blaze from the SUV that caught fire.
