Orland Township To Distribute 500 Bags Of PPE To Those In Need

ORLAND TOWNSHIP, IL — Orland Township is holding a drive-thru event to distribute bags of cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) to residents experiencing financial hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Township Supervisor, Paul O’Grady.

The Township said they will have 500 bags packed with an array of items that include masks, vinyl gloves, disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer. A tip sheet on proper sanitizing methods will also be included. Proof of residency is required, according to the Township.

“With the holidays approaching, we want to again assist residents who have been financially impacted by the pandemic,” O’Grady said. “By providing residents with a bag of PPE and disinfecting supplies, we are giving them the means to be pro-active in the fight against COVID-19.”

The Township said distribution will work as a drive-thru and that residents have to show I.D. with proof of residency. Those who attend are to stay in their cars and wear a mask when interacting with Township personnel.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or while supplies last. There is a limit of only one bag per address, according to the Township.
