Park District Commissioners Approve 0% Tax Levy For Third Year In a Row
Board of Commissioners Vote Not to Raise Taxes for Third Year While Maintaining Park District Programming & Leading Cleanup of Property
TINLEY PARK, Ill. – The Board of Commissioners for the Tinley Park-Park District announced they have approved a 0 percent tax levy for the third year in a row.
The Board’s decision not to raise taxes on the Tinley Park community comes as the Park District continues to offer high-quality, robust activities and programming for residents of all ages and as the Park District continues to lead the long overdue environmental cleanup of the former Tinley Park Mental Health Center site. The extensive cleanup of the 280 acres of vacant land is being funded entirely by state dollars and not being passed on to residents.
“For the third consecutive year, we are very proud to announce that we will not raise taxes on our residents,” said Park Board President Lisa O’Donovan. “The Park District will continue to offer premier opportunities to enrich the lives of Tinley Park residents without adding to their tax bills.”
