The dogs, Helmut and Ron, will have to undergo about 2 months of training before they can go in the field, police said.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park Police Department has two new K-9s on the force.

Helmut and Ron were added to the public safety team Friday and will be in training for the next six to eight weeks before they can officially join the force.
