TINLEY PARK, IL — This October, Tinley Park police officers will be sporting specially designed pink patches for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The patches also will be available for the public to purchase, with the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Sgts. Darren Persha and Patrick St. John created the patch design, which was approved by the department and the Village Board. Chief Matthew Walsh gave the OK for officers to wear the patches on their uniforms throughout the month, the village said.

Patches are now on sale and cost $10. They can be purchased from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Tinley Park Police Department, 7850 W. 183rd St.
