'Putting With Purpose' Special Rec Fundraiser Tees Off In Tinley Park

The mini-golf fundraiser at Tinley Junction on Monday, Aug. 19 will benefit the South Suburban Special Recreation Association.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A mini golf fundraiser to benefit a south suburban association that supports those with disabilities or special needs is set for August 19, in Tinley Park.

Putting with Purpose is the first mini-golf outing fundraiser to support the South Suburban Special Recreation Association. Proceeds will go towards SSSRA’s Scholarship Program. This program helps residents requiring financial assistance by reducing fees for programs and special events.

The event will be held at the Tinley Park-Park District's Tinley Junction, 16801 S. 80th Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 19. For a $15 fee, participants get one round of mini-golf, pizza and pop. Participants should register for the time slot they prefer. Deadline to sign up is Sunday, August 18.

SSSRA participants and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please note that the miniature golf course is not wheelchair accessible. Participants are welcome to attend the event and enjoy time socializing under the pavilion and visit our vendor tables.

SSSRA provides recreational opportunities to individuals with disabilities or special needs. The association is an extension of seven park districts and three recreation and parks departments. Its coverage area encompasses Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Country Club Hills, Hazel Crest, Homewood-Flossmoor, Lansing, Matteson, Olympia Fields, Park Forest and Richton Park.
