Racist Prank Caller Harassing Daycare Workers

TINLEY PARK, IL — A racist has made prank phone calls to daycares in Tinley Park, Homer Glen and Lockport, police said.

Tinley Park police met with staff from the Bobbie Noonan’s on Grissom Drive earlier this month and were told of two recent incidents.

In one, a “male subject called and asked if the business was a Christian school,” police said.

The daycare worker “advised it was and that the students sing a prayer song in the morning,” police said. “The subject then began to sing a similar song to what the children sing, but changed the words to include derogatory terms for African Americans.”

According to police, the caller “sounded like a male teenager.”

The Bobbie Noonan’s employee “also advised the business received another prank phone call sometime last week where an unknown subject also used derogatory terms for African Americans,” police said.

The employee went on to tell police that Bobbie Noonan daycares in Lockport and Homer Glen “also received prank phone calls and were contacting their respective police departments at the direction of their regional director.”
