Rolled-Over Tanker Truck Accident Shut Down I-80 In Tinley Park

TINLEY PARK, IL — The accident that shut down westbound Interstate 80 Friday night for six hours was caused by a rolled over tanker truck that carried liquid nitrogen. No one was injured and no chemical was spilled, police said.

The semi-truck rolled over at about 10:30 p.m. and smashed against the median, blocking all westbound lanes, CBS Chicago reported. It took authorities about six hours to remove the vehicle from the scene.

No other cars were involved in the crash. The accident is still under investigation.
