Santana Anniversary Tour Coming To Tinley

The Doobie Brothers join the Supernatural Now tour that celebrates Santana's anniversaries of its landmark album and Woodstock performance.

TINLEY PARK, IL — It'll be a hot one — Santana's Supernatural Now tour hits the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in August, ringing in the 20th anniversary of its grammy-award winning Supernatural album and the 50th anniversary of the band's Woodstock performance. Santana comes to Tinley Aug. 4 with The Doobie Brothers.

The three-month tour kicks off June 22 at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ, spanning major North American cities, and ends late in Aug. Tickets go on sale to the general public Fri., Jan. 25.

"Woodstock and Supernatural took me to places I never dreamed were possible," Hall of Fame guitarist Carlos Santana said in a statement. "I embraced those incredible moments in my life with all my heart. Both were supreme lessons in maintaining focus, heart and integrity in every step every day and to strive to better oneself with a high standard on and off the stage."

The 1999 album Supernatural, the tour's namesake, was the 18th for Santana and brought the band unprecedented success. It went platinum 15 times in the United States, and won eight Grammys, including album of the year. It also won three Latin Grammys, including album of the year.

In 1969, the little-known band skyrocketed to the national scene after it performed live onstage at the legendary Woodstock music festival in New York.
